Make Humanity Great Again

God, Our Children and My Journey

Where would the journey of life take a child, born during World War II on a farm in Central Pennsylvania? The tapestry of this life would be woven throughout the world, first ignited when, as a young child sitting at the piano playing The Blue Danube Waltz, I was dreaming of faraway places. A basic part of that journey was being born into a Christian family, fostering a close (and sometimes not so close) relationship with God through Jesus. I believe we are vessels of God here to fulfill a purpose. That colorful tapestry of life would be filled with rich relationships throughout the world as doors flung open to my new adventures and opportunities.

After years of teaching in public schools, then birthing three beautiful children, it was time to graduate to a new level , when learning of Dr. Maria Montessori ‘s system. I had 35 two-to-five- year-old international children in our Venezuelan home daily, implementing this method. I thought I went to heaven! God makes the impossible, possible! Later, back in The Netherlands, kinesiology (stress release) came into my life. I no longer needed glasses to read after one kinesiology session! How could any system be so simple and effective? Again, was I in heaven?

My journey took me to the University of Dijon, later teaching kinesiology in the former communist halls in Moscow, The Ukraine, The Slovak and Czech Republics, Hungary, and Poland for 28 years. I also taught kinesiology in Greece, Canada and the USA, as well as lecturing for global peace conferences, universities, parliaments, town hall meetings, and teacher conferences. Five international conferences were a part of my beautiful tapestry of life as well as setting up and sponsoring Montessori preschools and schools and training Montessori teachers for nine summers in Budapest and Prague. A great part of this journey was the deep, loving interactions with these countless souls thirsting for a better way of life. This is what life is about: to love and to share.

What are you weaving into your tapestry of life? Come, join me in my colorful tapestry journey.

Our Pastor said we should not retire but refire. As our great poet Robert Frost wrote: “We have promises to keep and miles to go before we sleep.”

Know that with God, nothing is impossible. He makes the impossible possible!

May your journey be blessed!  – Carol Ann Hontz
